Peeing and Fitness Pal

I'm holding out for the pee sticking until Sunday, which will be 12 days post IUI. I decided I definitely want to POAS before my therapy appointment on Monday night. And I definitely don't want to POAS and go straight to work Monday morning feeling all bummed about a BFN. So Sunday it is.

I'm not very hopeful that this is going to be it. My temperatures are all kinds of wonky and I'm convinced that my egg quality is low. I just want to either be pregnant or done inserting progesterone pills into my vajay. I am so over the leakage. And feeling generally wet and disgusting in my lady parts.

In my non-fertility related world, I have good news and bad news.

Good news:
I downloaded the free MyFitnessPal app on my ipad and am mildly obsessed with it. Why didn't you guys tell me how awesome this app is?!?!? I. Love. It. And it's been extremely motivating to exercise because that earns more calories and I have realized my key to eating whatever I want is, unfortunately, exercising my butt off.

Bad news:

Clearly, it hasn't stopped me from eating four cinnamon rolls for breakfast and ice cream for lunch and cookies and cheesecake for dessert after dinner. Also, saying I only had "one cup" of Graeter's ice cream is being extremely generous.

Entering my totals for Sunday was not a proud moment.

Overall, though, I've been much better than that. I think I'm "under" my calorie goal about 3/4 the time.  The app has really opened my eyes to how much sugar I eat (and not just in the above example). I'm "over" on sugar almost every day. And sodium is usually a problem, too.

Has anyone else used this app? Do you love it as much as I do? Has it helped? I love how so much stuff is programmed in there already!

  2. I like it... But then again I havent logged into it in forever! It makes me mad!! It gave me a calorie goal of 1200 calories... Seriously wtf is that? Im just trying to gain enough weight to qualify for gastric bypass surgery... Bc oddly enough THAT IS COVERED BY MY INSURANCE!

    1. 1200 calories?!?!? WHAAAAA? That's crazy town. I have it in to lose 1/2 lb a week and it gives me 1560... and I like to eat more than that so I usually will squeeze in a workout to earn some more.

  5. Good luck Sunday! I had a friend try that app and she lost over 40 pounds. I have a similar app on my phone but I have to admit I am not good about using it daily. I was before school started and now I am a hot mess.

    1. 40 pounds?!? Wow, impressive! I've lost four pounds on it in 25 days. It does take some serious dedication to remember to do it for everything you eat, every day.

  6. Good luck on Sunday! I'm not looking forward to the progesterone supps based on your description, but then again whatever it takes!!

I started using myfitnesspal on my iPhone last month I like it too. But it does require consistency and I've gotten lazy about clicking on the icon and entering information. Keep at it!

    1. Maybe I'm just being whiny about the progesterone... but I REALLY hate it. I'm also super spoiled from rarely getting periods so I'm not used to wearing pads this long.

  8. I'll be thinking of you and sending thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes on Sunday!

I used an app like that to lose weight for my wedding.., it helped me lose 11 pounds in 5 months. Not sure why I lost so little since I was working out like a crazy person and was eating only around 1200 cal per day! But oh well, it worked and I looked fabulous for my wedding:)

  10. I use Live Strong's Daily Plate on my laptop and iPhone, same thing as your tracker. I find it really helpful in getting me back on track when I think I am doing okay but really am relying a lot on empty calories.

Good luck today with your POAS!
